The WAHTS headset’s noise-attenuating ear cups and foam provide sound isolation comparable to a single-walled sound booth. Its integrated wireless audiometer circuit, speaker, and microphone meet ANSI and IEC audiometer standards and align with OSHA’s occupational noise exposure requirements, ensuring reliable and compliant hearing assessments.
Easy &
Flexible App
The WAHTS app enables administrators to monitor individuals or groups taking an automated, self-paced hearing test simultaneously. Using a peer-to-peer wireless connection, test statuses and results are transmitted in real-time to the administrator’s tablet, allowing for immediate review without needing internet access. When online, results can be seamlessly transferred to your database or integrated with third-party electronic health record systems.
Quick Set-Up & Calibration Check
The app provides a guided walk-through to set-up testing. The daily calibration output check results may be verified on the screen before testing begins.
Connect & Test
Each WAHTS headset connects via bluetooth to the tablet-based app. Administer automated, self-paced hearing tests and hearing protection fit tests or switch to manual mode for more control.
Efficient & Accurate
The app continuously monitors test takers in real time with the ability to test frequencies ranging from 500 to 16000 Hz. WAHTS test results provide an audiogram with optional baseline data for easy identification of threshold shifts.

MPANLs
WAHTS is an FDA-registered audiometer that meets OSHA 1910.95, ANSI S3.6, and IEC 60645-1 standards. With superior Maximum Permissible Ambient Noise Levels (MPANLS) at 250, 500, and 1000 Hz, WAHTS outperforms other transducers, making it ideal for boothless audiometry in environments with ambient noise. See Figure 1 below for WAHTS MPANL values.

The passive attenuation of WAHTS allows the system to be used accurately to test hearing in environments with ambient noise. Figure 1 shows the maximum permissible ambient noise levels (MPANLs) calculated for WAHTS in accordance with ANSI S3.1-1999 (R2018). Adjusted MPANLs are calculated by adding the passive attenuation of the transducer to the ears uncovered ANSI S3.1 values.

The WAHTS headset’s passive attenuation provides higher Maximum Permissible Ambient Noise Levels (MPANLs) at low frequencies (see Figure 1 and dark blue bars in Figure 2), allowing accurate audiometric testing even in high ambient noise environments. Since ambient noise often has low-frequency energy that can interfere with testing and cause false low-frequency hearing loss, WAHTS’s enhanced MPANLs help ensure reliable results.
